ROCK FOR DARFUR
www.myspace.com/rockfordarfur
The United Nations calls Darfur “the world's greatest humanitarian crisis.” The United States government calls it genocide. Whatever its name, the ongoing violence in Darfur is still escalating four years later. Conflicts between tribal militias, stoked by the Sudanese regime, have left over 400,000 dead and 2.5 million displaced from their homes. Fighting has reduced villages to ashes, crops to barren fields. As the world continues to debate protection and peacemaking, we must act now to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches the people of Darfur before it’s too late.
MySpace has decided it cannot sit idly by without directing its millions of eyeballs toward Darfur. MySpace bands are coming together to help the people of Darfur, and to send a strong message to the world that this crisis must end now. Show your support and go to a ROCK FOR DARFUR show on November 10. A portion of your ticket purchase will go directly to the Save Darfur Coalition, and to Oxfam’s Sudan Crisis Relief and Rehabilitation Fund. Visit myspace.com/rockfordarfur for details and to find out how you can get involved.

CALLUM ROBBINS

desotorecords.com/cal/index.shtml
On January 27, 2006, J. Robbins and Janet Morgan welcomed their first child, a son named Callum. When Cal was 8 months old, he was diagnosed with a genetic motor neuron disease called Type 1 SMA, or Spinal Muscular Atrophy. SMAis a deadly and relatively common genetic disease that affects the brain's ability to communicate with the voluntary muscles that are used for activities such as crawling, walking, head and neck control, breathing, and swallowing. Type 1 SMA affects the respiratory or breathing muscles of infants in the womb or shortly after birth. The progressive weakening of the chest muscles leads to respiratory infections and eventual death, usually by the age of two. There is currently no cure for SMA. Cal will never be able to walk and to compound this horrible situation, his medical treatment (which includes progressive alternative treatments) has been and will continue to be incredibly expensive. Every dollar you donate will provide Cal and his parents support to pursue treatment for this terrible disease. For more information on SMA, visit the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Foundation website.
